Current Community Projects & Impact

Building Stronger Communities. Together.

At Sea Island Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home. Right now, our work is transforming lives across Charleston County through volunteer-driven home construction and critical home repairs. Each project we undertake reflects our deep commitment to preserving generational homes, uplifting families, and strengthening the fabric of our local communities.

Current Projects

New Home Construction

Sea Island Habitat for Humanity is actively building two safe, affordable 3-bedroom, 2-bath homes in Ravenel. These homes represent more than construction—they’re the foundation for stability, opportunity, and brighter futures. One family is expected to move in by July 2025, with the second home set for completion in September.

Sweetgrass Preserve

Breaking ground in 2026, Sweetgrass Preserve will blossom into a vibrant 50-home affordable community in the heart of Johns Island. By year’s end, nine families will be unlocking their front doors—creating new stories of stability, hope, and opportunity for generations to come.

Critical Home Repairs

Our Critical Home Repairs program is dedicated to preserving generational homes and keeping families safe and secure. We focus on essential exterior repairs—such as roofs, windows, and accessibility ramps—to help long-time residents remain in the homes they love. By restoring safety and stability, we’re strengthening families and protecting the legacy of our community.
