Critical Home Repairs — Keeping Families Safe & Comfortable at Home

Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to live, not just for now, but for years to come. At Sea Island Habitat for Humanity, our Critical Home Repair Program exists to help hardworking neighbors in need stay in the homes they love by fixing the most urgent and essential issues — at no cost to the homeowner.

Who Can Apply?

Whether you already own your home or have lived in it for years, you may be eligible — you don’t need to be a Habitat homeowner to apply. We require that the home is owner-occupied and owner is low-income (up to 80% AMI).

We can only help individuals who live within our service area. Those zip codes are: 29470, 29426, 29412, 29455, 29457, 29439, 29438, 29487, 29449

Not in our area? Trident United Way has a 24/7 tool to connect individuals with local resources. More information at sc211.org

What We Repair

Our team focuses on improvements that protect the health, safety, and dignity of your home, including:

Roof repairs to stop leaks and prevent further damage
Exterior doors and windows to improve security and energy efficiency
Weatherproofing like door seals and caulking
Accessibility upgrades such as wheelchair ramps, secure stairs, and handrails

Please note: We are currently not able to do any structural repairs, interior repairs (like bathroom or floor work) or repairs on mobile homes — except for accessibility improvements.
