How to Help

Volunteer

every volunteer can build hope.

By volunteering locally with Habitat for Humanity, you can be part of the change you want to see in your community.

We are always looking for volunteers to support our mission!

How to Volunteer

Individuals

You can choose to make a recurring commitment or just help out one day!

Sign up is a breeze through our volunteer registration platform.

  1. Create a volunteer account through our site: https://seaislandhabitat.galaxydigital.com/
  2. After you are approved, you will be able to sign up for shifts that work for your schedule. We require sign-ups to be at least 48 hours before the opportunity.

Groups

Whether you have a group of friends or coworkers, we can meet your needs to strengthen your team while creating change in the community.

Some of our most popular groups are:

  • Collegiate Challenges
  • Corporate Team Building
  • Faith & Community Groups

Send us an email at volunteer@seaislandhabitat.org and we will schedule a time to chat and get your group scheduled.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What can I/we expect on a build day?

Our build plan on work sites varies from week to week. You might be digging foundations, roofing, painting, helping on a critical repair, or anything in between. If you would like to know specifics, please reach out to us a few days before your shift.

  • What do I need to bring/wear?

We provide tools, personal safety items, water, building materials, training, and supervision. Bring whatever food you will need and make sure to wear clothes for the weather and that can get a little dirty.

  • We are coming from out-of-town, is there anywhere for us to stay?

We have 2 houses located on Johns Island for our out-of-town volunteer groups. We have a housing donation of $215 per person. Our George Miller House has 24 bed, 3.5 baths and our Faith House 18 beds, 2 baths. You will need to reserve our houses at least 2 months in advance. Email us at volunteer@seaislandhabitat.org.

  • For our corporate group, is it possible to cater in food?

Yes! Let's chat. We are able to support the needs of your group while making sure we keep the work site safe.

  • Are there Sea Island Habitat for Humanity shirts for us?

Yes, you can purchase branded shirts from us. Just send us an email at volunteer@seaislandhabitat.org.
