Frequently Asked Questions

  • What can I/we expect on a build day?

Our build plan on work sites varies from week to week. You might be digging foundations, roofing, painting, helping on a critical repair, or anything in between. If you would like to know specifics, please reach out to us a few days before your shift.

  • What do I need to bring/wear?

We provide tools, personal safety items, water, building materials, training, and supervision. Bring whatever food you will need and make sure to wear clothes for the weather and that can get a little dirty.

  • We are coming from out-of-town, is there anywhere for us to stay?

We have 2 houses located on Johns Island for our out-of-town volunteer groups. We have a housing donation of $215 per person. Our George Miller House has 24 bed, 3.5 baths and our Faith House 18 beds, 2 baths. You will need to reserve our houses at least 2 months in advance. Email us at volunteer@seaislandhabitat.org.

  • For our corporate group, is it possible to cater in food?

Yes! Let's chat. We are able to support the needs of your group while making sure we keep the work site safe.

  • Are there Sea Island Habitat for Humanity shirts for us?

Yes, you can purchase branded shirts from us. Just send us an email at volunteer@seaislandhabitat.org.
